About Ryan Heapy LMFT
Ryan is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. He earned his Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. He is Comprehensively Trained™ in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) by the Linehan Institute, trained in EMDR, a trauma-based therapy, and also in Narrative Therapy by the Pepperdine Community Counseling Center. Ryan has been a practitioner of mindfulness and meditation for over a decade, and enjoys teaching these practices to clients in simple and tangible ways that are easy to apply in their daily lives.
Ryan has many years of experience working in a variety of different mental health and substance use treatment settings. He aligns with Capo Canyon’s vision of treating the core underlying issues that cause us anxiety, addiction, depression, PTSD, and other mental health disorders. His approach includes giving clients practical skills to manage the symptoms of issues they are struggling with and help clients better manage their lives. Ryan is passionate about mental health and enjoys giving talks about anxiety and depression at high schools and conferences.
