Dr. Valeh Karimkhani


Dr. Valeh Karimkhani, D.O. is a psychiatrist, dually board certified in Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine. She is currently the Medical Director for Capo Canyon Recovery and oversees detoxification services for clients. 

Dr. Karimkhani, was born and raised in Denver CO, where she completed her undergraduate studies with a double major in biology and chemistry. She attended medical school at the University of North Texas Health and Science Center, College of Osteopathic Medicine. Her internship was completed at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, and she completed her psychiatry residency at University of Colorado Health and Science Center in 2007, with an emphasis in adolescent psychiatry.

Dr. Karimkhani has been dedicated to serving the psychiatric needs of her community. She has extensive experience in emergency psychiatry, dual diagnosis, trauma, substance abuse, and adolescent psychiatry. Dr. Karimkhani is also a Major in the Army Reserves, and has completed three tours of duty in the Middle East. 


Shonte Perluss

Facility administrator

Shonte Perluss serves as the Facility Administrator for Capo Canyon Recovery; overseeing programming, client intakes, staffing, policies, procedures and licensing compliance. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in Psychology and holds a certificate in Human Resources Management from CSU Long Beach.  For the last seven years, she has been overseeing the administration of licensed, certified and accredited drug treatment facilities in the southern Orange County area. She has found her life's passion after witnessing her mother successfully overcome heroin addiction through treatment and recovery.


Lily Habte, MFT


Lily holds a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, Los Angeles. She has over 10 years experience working in community agencies in Los Angeles and Orange County providing therapy and group services to clients who suffer from severe trauma, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and domestic violence. She also works in the capacity of Clinical Supervisor to trainees and interns. Her therapeutic approach is interactive, and she helps clients develop applicable solutions that can effectively be implemented in their daily life.


Krishna Jessick, CATC


Krishna is a Certified Addiction Treatment Counselor and an expert at residential detoxification. She graduated from Saddleback College with a certificate in Drug & Alcohol Studies. Over the last 20 years she has owned and managed numerous detox facilities, residential facilities and outpatient programs and has remained a strong advocate for holistic services in treatment. Capo Canyon Recovery is lucky to have her decades of detox expertise and our clients will love her for her counseling and case management skills.


Judith Wright, RN


Judy is a Registered Nurse and received her Associates of Science in Nursing from San Diego City College. She has 10 years of personal experience in recovery and currently also sponsors women in their early stages of their recovery. Judy will help support and monitor our clients through their detoxification process.


Sarah Cook, RN


Sarah Cook is a Registered Nurse and received her Associates Degree in Nursing at Heartland Community College. In addition to her extensive experience in nursing, she has passion and experience with addiction in her family. Before moving to California, she served on the Logan County Heroin Task Force dedicated to bringing community leaders together to battle the heroin epidemic in her county. 


Jeanne Gettys


Jeanne received her Associates Degree in Nursing at the Community College of Allegheny County in Pittsburgh. She has decades of experience in nursing and case management at Irvine Regional Hospital and Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and more recently, residential detoxification facilities. Her experience with managing client care in a residential setting is invaluable to Capo Canyon Recovery. 


Sean Carla Vance, LVN


Sean is a Licensed Vocational Nurse and studied Nursing at Long Beach City College. She has years of experience working in residential treatment facilities and residential detox. 


Erica Blaney


Erica has been working in the recovery field since 2014 and has personal experience in the intense process of early recovery. She also sponsors women in drug, alcohol and eating disorder recovery. Erica has a passion for supporting and encouraging clients to believe in themselves and to ensure their safety.
