Krishna Jessick, CADC-II
Our founder and executive director Krishna has spent over 20 years in the field of drug & alcohol recovery, having helped in the creation and marketing of four other residential addiction treatment programs in California—Orange County. She studied Human Services: Drug and Alcohol Studies in Saddleback College and is a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC) as well as an educator for and member of the California Association for Alcohol/Drug Educators (CAADE). She also trained in Relapse Prevention, Crisis Intervention, Denial Management, Primordial Sound Meditation, and Recovery Coaching.
Krishna has completed hundreds of successful interventions in the last 15 years. She continues to be involved in community advocacies, serving as liaison between Saddleback College and Drug Court, and working with County of Orange Risk Reduction Education and Community Health (REACH) Program. She is an advisory board member of the TEACH Program (also at Saddleback College), a Mental Health/Dual Diagnosis and Substance Abuse advisor at Orange Coast College, and a Drug Treatment panel member for the Substance Abuse and Crime Prevention Act of 2000 (Prop 36). Krishna was the keynote speaker at the 2008 CAADE Conference in Costa Mesa and at the 2009 California Indian Law Association Conference, where she discussed substance abuse in Indian Country.
Shonte Perluss serves as the Facility Administrator for Capo Canyon Recovery; overseeing programming, client intakes, staffing, policies, procedures and licensing compliance. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in Psychology and holds a certificate in Human Resources Management from CSU Long Beach. For the last seven years, she has been overseeing the administration of licensed, certified and accredited drug treatment facilities in the southern Orange County area. She has found her life's passion after witnessing her mother successfully overcome heroin addiction through treatment and recovery.
Sarah Cook, RN
Sarah Cook is a Registered Nurse and received her Associates Degree in Nursing at Heartland Community College. In addition to her extensive experience in nursing, she has passion and experience with addiction in her family. Before moving to California, she served on the Logan County Heroin Task Force dedicated to bringing community leaders together to battle the heroin epidemic in her county.
Jeanne received her Associates Degree in Nursing at the Community College of Allegheny County in Pittsburgh. She has decades of experience in nursing and case management at Irvine Regional Hospital and Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and more recently, residential detoxification facilities. Her experience with managing client care in a residential setting is invaluable to Capo Canyon Recovery.
Sean Carla Vance, LVN

Sean is a Licensed Vocational Nurse and studied Nursing at Long Beach City College. She has years of experience working in residential treatment facilities and residential detox.
Dr. Randall Turner, D.O.
Medical Director / Psychiatrist
Dr. Randall Turner received his medical degree from Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his Psychiatry Residency training at Loma Linda University. He’s board certified in Psychiatry and also in Addiction Medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine.
Dr Turner is a founding member of the Progeny Psychiatric Group. He primarily works in general adult psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, and addiction medicine. Everyday he strives to thoroughly understand human psychology and psychopathology with a hope to relieve suffering and foster the growth of those he treats.
Dr. Turner is a talented musician; he plays the guitar, piano, and drums. In his spare time, he also enjoys reading, bird watching, and traveling. He currently resides in Southern California with his wife and four children.
Michael Clark, PA
Michael received a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Tennessee. He received his Master’s of Health and Science from the University of South Alabama where he belonged to the Alpha Theta Chi Honor Society. Michael is certified through the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants. Michael is a member of the California Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Michael cares for the psychiatric needs of patients with an emphasis on communication to ensure each patient is thoroughly assessed. He works closely with our medical team to ensure any concerns are met.
Lynda Totah, NP
Mental Health Nurse PRACTITIONER
Lynda Totah received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix in 1994, family nurse practitioner degree from California State University Long Beach in 2013 and her psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner post-masters degree from California State University Long Beach in 2017. She is nationally board certified as both a family and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.
Lynda has worked for over 35 years as a nurse, many in critical care but has focused the last 5 years in addiction medicine and mental health. She obtained her medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and recovery support training with privileges of prescribing buprenorphine in office and outpatient settings in early 2017. Since that time she has been working primarily in detox, residential IOP and PHP settings.
Sandi Fontana, LMFT
Sandi holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. She has several years of working with clients who suffer from severe trauma, anxiety, and depression and with those currently battling substance abuse. She also has extensive experience working with those suffering from co-occurring mental health issues including bipolar and personality disorders. Sandi also has a passion for collaborating with clients and helping them rebuild family relationships and also encourages clients to gain personal insight by increasing self-awareness and emphasize existing strengths in an effort to guide them to experience a more happy life.
Sandi brings many years of team leadership experience to her role as Clinical Director of our dual-diagnosis treatment center. She carefully guides the clinical team to strive for excellence in the continuity of health care for all CASA Recovery clients and promotes awareness of individual needs for all by fostering good communication among all persons.
Amy Lucio, LMFT, LPPC
Amy is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. She holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology, with a minor in Applied Psychology from UC Santa Barbara. Amy’s background includes working with survivors of interpersonal violence at Laura’s House where she helped individuals and families struggling with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, depression, and anxiety. During this time, she also received Sexual Assault Advocacy Training. Amy has extensive training in Narrative Therapy and EMDR and likes to work collaboratively with clients to help them in living a life they prefer.
